Estructuras laminares
Study and application of Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete to the construction of laminar structures
- Start: 01/12/2001 Finish: 01/12/2003
This project was developed together with the Department of Construction Engineering and Civil Engineering Projects at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. The behaviour of slightly thick sheets made with Steel Fiber reinforced Concrete (SFRC) was studied. Our company had to implement numerical models on the global behaviour of the structure and the material model; whereas the laboratory of the Department of Construction Engineering characterized the material properties by means of extensive trials on test tubes containing a different dosage of fiber. These results were applied to construct the sheet for the roof of the Restaurante Submarino in L’Oceanogràfic in Valencia, Spain. A great deal of information has been published about the results of this project.
