International Award for Batumi Seafront Boulevard

Today, our project Batumi Seafront Boulevard has received the International Architecture Award for 2012 coming from the institutions The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design. Completed in 2010, this project creates a seafront promenade and a 18 ha. urban park in Batumi, the first tourist destination on the Black Sea Coast in Georgia. The international mention highlights the quality of the work and rewards our international expansion, after four years developing works like the Alphabetic Tower or the new Parliament building in this same country.

This annual prize awards globally “the excellence on architecture, urban planning and landscape projects”. The 2012 jury was held in Oslo, Norway, and 81 projects from 28 nations were selected by a distinguished group of Norwegian architects and educators.

With other six awarded projects designed in our country, Batumi Seafront Boulevard stands out as the only one work obtained abroad by a Spanish office. All the awarded projects will take part of an international exhibition at the annual symposium, “The City and the World”, in Istanbul, Turkey, from October 1 to November 30, and then will travel inside Europe.
